Zach Abu-Ali Leads the Way as Mustangs Stay Perfect

Western remained undefeated with a convincing 14–6 victory over Laurier on Saturday afternoon. Blake Booth opened the scoring just 1:28 into the game before Kai Brady and Zach Abu-Ali extended the lead to 3–0 after the opening quarter. Hunter Casey put Laurier on the board 3:43 into the second, but Western answered with five consecutive goals to take firm control. Christopher Da Silva’s power-play marker at 12:16 stood as the game-winner, while Abu-Ali completed his hat trick during the run. Bradley Noble briefly stopped the momentum for Laurier, but Abu-Ali added another before halftime to give the Mustangs a commanding 9–2 advantage.

Western continued to pull away in the third quarter, scoring five times over the opening 8:40 to extend its lead to 14–2. Abu-Ali scored his fifth of the game, Booth, Cyrus Sinopole, Mason Williams and Mason Doshi also found the back of the net. Nolan MacVicar and Lukas Mothersell responded for Laurier later in the quarter, while Ben Barton scored twice in the fourth to close out the scoring. Abu-Ali led the Mustangs with five goals, Booth, Da Silva and Sinopole all finished with two goals each, as Western improved to 4–0.
