Logue’s Overtime Winner Lifts Guelph Past Brock

Guelph jumped out to an early 2–0 lead on goals from Ben Lawlor and Carter Mackay, but Brock responded and carried a 5–4 advantage into halftime. Nicholas Volkov and John Logue put the Gryphons back in front during the third quarter before Colton Armitage’s power-play goal tied the game 6–6 heading into the fourth.

Brock took control early in the fourth, scoring three consecutive goals through Jack Parker, Brayden Brown and Armitage to build a 9–6 lead. Logue answered for Guelph, but Jared Cook restored Brock’s three-goal advantage with 4:21 remaining. The Gryphons then mounted a furious comeback. Ethan Brown scored just 16 seconds later, Logue added a power-play marker at 3:49, and Justin Hewitt tied the game 10–10 on another man advantage with 1:35 left. After killing an early overtime penalty, Guelph received a late power play, and Logue completed the comeback by scoring the winner with only four seconds remaining to give the Gryphons a thrilling 11–10 victory.
