Canada’s University Lacrosse League
The Canadian University Field Lacrosse Association (CUFLA) is home to university field lacrosse in Canada.
Founded in 1985, CUFLA has grown from its early club roots into one of the country’s premier competitive environments for university lacrosse. Today, 14 universities across Ontario and Quebec compete for the Baggataway Cup, the national championship of Canadian university field lacrosse.
CUFLA brings together elite student athletes who want to compete at a high level while pursuing a university education in Canada.

A Path to Professional Lacrosse
CUFLA has produced players who have gone on to compete professionally, including in the National Lacrosse League and Premier Lacrosse League. CUFLA players can also continue their junior careers while playing university lacrosse, providing a unique pathway for CUFLA athletes.
HOW THE CUFLA SEASON WORKS
CUFLA is a fall university sport.
August
Training camps and preseason preparation begin.
September–October
The CUFLA regular season takes place, with teams competing within the league for playoff positioning.
November
The season culminates with the Baggataway Cup Championship, where the league's top teams compete for the national title.

Student athletes can contact CUFLA coaches or university athletics departments at any time to learn more about their programs, admissions requirements, roster opportunities and scholarships. Many CUFLA universities offer academic or athletic scholarships, although programs and eligibility requirements vary by institution.

CUFLA has a long history of developing players who go on to compete at the highest levels of the sport.
CUFLA alumni have played professional lacrosse and represented Canada internationally, including players who have won gold with Team Canada.
For players with professional aspirations, CUFLA provides an opportunity to continue developing while completing a university degree.
Your lacrosse career does not have to end when you enter university.
