Battersby’s Four-Goal Performance Powers Brock Past Laurentian

Brock came out quickly and built an early advantage on its way to a 16–6 victory over Laurentian. Carson Saunders opened the scoring just 47 seconds into the game before Guerin Jennings and Jack Parker extended the lead to 3–0. Laurentian answered with goals from Jake Sudsbury and Rowan Smith, but Brock responded with three more to carry a 6–2 lead into the second quarter. The Badgers added two more before halftime, taking an 8–3 advantage into the break.

Brock put the game away with five goals in the third quarter, including three from Dawson Battersby, to extend its lead to 13–4. Sudsbury opened the fourth-quarter scoring for Laurentian at 3:09, but Matt Cairns and Eric Andrew answered for Brock. Grant Petronech added another for the Voyageurs before Brett Butler closed out the scoring at 14:00. Battersby led the Badgers with four goals, while Parker recorded a hat trick and Carter McBride scored twice. Sudsbury led Laurentian with three goals, but the Voyageurs were unable to slow Brock’s balanced attack. The Badgers outshot Laurentian 27–21 in the game.
