King’s Seven Goals Lead Nipissing Past McMaster

The Nipissing Lakers defeated the McMaster Marauders 15–10, using a strong second quarter to build their lead. Zach Tarr opened the scoring before Lincoln Gear answered for McMaster. Ben King, Blake Davies and Taylor Bennett also scored for the Lakers, while Brennan Mee and Gear’s second kept the Marauders close at 4–3 after one. Nipissing then scored four straight in the second, with Matthew Lalonde, Tarr, Kaleb Fulkerson and King finding the net before Nick Pospisil answered for McMaster. At the half, Nipissing led 8–4.
King scored three in the third, but McMaster stayed within reach with three from Gear and one from Pospisil to make it 11–8 heading to the fourth. King opened the final quarter before Pospisil and Preston Gear brought the Marauders within two. The Lakers responded with three straight from Rohan Croisdale, King and Jacob Tarr to secure the victory. King led Nipissing with seven goals, while Lincoln Gear had five and Pospisil added three for McMaster. Shots on goal were 22–14 in favour of Nipissing.
