Rookie of the Year 2025

CUFLA, the Canadian University Field Lacrosse Association is proud to announce the recipient of the 2025 Rookie of the Year Award. Following a year end poll of CUFLA coaches, the league is proud to name Zach Abu-Ali from the University of Toronto Varsity Blues the 2025 Rookie of the Year.

Zach Abu-Ali Is a first year student studying Finance and Economics at the University of Toronto. Dressing in 9-games this season for the Varsity Blues, Abu-Ali netted 51 points, including 35 goals and 16 assists. A Mississauga, Ontario resident, Abu-Ali attended St Martins Catholic Secondary School and played minor and junior lacrosse for the Mimico Mountaineers. In his young lacrosse career, he has won 2 national box championships as a member of Team Ontario Lacrosse. Abu-Ali played club lacrosse with Evolve and the Rock Stars.

Zach Abu-Ali is the 2025 CUFLA Rookie of the Year. He is also a 2025 All Canadian honouree, and was selected to the 2025 Rookie All Star Game.
