CUFLA, the Canadian University Field Lacrosse Association is proud to announce the recipient of the 2025 Outstanding Graduating Player Award. Following a year end poll of CUFLA coaches, the league is proud to name Liam Aston from the University of Guelph Gryphons the 2025 Outstanding Graduating Player.
This award recognizes an outstanding graduating player who has demonstrated exceptional skill, leadership, and commitment throughout their collegiate career. It honours an athlete who not only excelled on the field, but also embodied sportsmanship, dedication, and a lasting positive impact on their team and community. The recipient leaves a legacy that raises the standard for all who follow.

Liam Aston is a 4th year student studying Economics and Finance at the University of Guelph. An Ottawa resident, Aston attended Woodroffe High School while playing minor and junior lacrosse for the Nepean Knights, along with stints playing junior lacrosse for Nanaimo and the Toronto Beaches. This season Liam appeared in all 13-games for the University of Guelph Gryphons, scoring 31-goals and earning 38 assists for a total of 69 points. Averaging 5.31 points-per-game in 2025, Aston recorded 5 hat-tricks and 2 game-winning-goals. Liam helped refine his field lacrosse skills playing club lacrosse with the Ottawa Capitals. Currently he plays in the Arena Lacrosse League for the Whitby Steelhawks. In September he was drafted into the National Lacrosse League (NLL) by the Ottawa Black Bears.
Liam Aston is the 2025 CUFLA Outstanding Graduating Player. He also earns the designation of "All Canadian" and was named to the 2025 All Baggataway Cup Team.
