Mustangs Charge Past Laurentian With Dominant Victory

Western took control early and never looked back, scoring six unanswered goals in the first quarter on its way to a 16–5 victory over Laurentian. Ryder Cooke opened the scoring before Troy MacDonald, Christopher Da Silva, Cyrus Sinopole and Mason Doshi added to the lead. Sinopole’s second goal, with just three seconds remaining in the quarter, proved to be the game-winner. Western added three more in the second, while Kai Erkkilä scored Laurentian’s lone goal of the opening half to make it 9–1 at the break.


The Mustangs continued to build their lead in the third quarter behind Reid MacDonald, Kai Brady and two goals from Zach Abu-Ali. Laurentian found more success in the fourth, receiving goals from Jake Sudsbury, Matteo Di Ciccio and Sudsbury again, but Western answered with three of its own to complete the 16–5 victory. Western received balanced scoring throughout the lineup, with Sinopole, Reid MacDonald, Abu-Ali, Mason Williams and Da Silva each scoring twice.
