Nipissing earned a convincing 14–5 victory over Laurier on Saturday evening. The Golden Hawks battled early behind goals from Nolan MacVicar and Ronan Lamarche, but the Lakers answered with Zach Tarr scoring twice in the opening quarter. Matthew Lalonde then found the back of the net with one second remaining to give Nipissing momentum heading into the second. The Lakers continued to build their advantage in the second quarter, with Nolan Downey adding a goal in the final minute before halftime.

Tarr continued his strong performance in the third quarter, scoring his fourth goal of the game before Carson Reinke answered for Laurier. Nipissing then pulled away in the fourth, receiving goals from Ben King, Downey, Blake Davies and Kaleb Fulkerson, including three on the power play. MacVicar added his second of the game for the Golden Hawks, but the Lakers’ balanced offence proved to be too much. Tarr led Nipissing with four goals, while MacVicar and Lamarche paced Laurier.

Final score: Nipissing 14, Laurier 5.
