Fourth Quarter Surge Lifts Brock Past Toronto

Brock earned a hard-fought 10–8 victory over Toronto on Wednesday evening. Graham Dicken and Daniel Clarke gave the Varsity Blues an early 2–0 lead before Dawson Battersby answered for the Badgers late in the first quarter. Alexander May restored Toronto’s two-goal advantage early in the second, but Brock responded with four consecutive goals from Colton Armitage, Battersby, Jared Cook and Guerin Jennings to take a 5–3 lead into halftime.
Jennings extended Brock’s advantage early in the third, but Toronto battled back with three unanswered goals from Clarke, Ethan Milroy and Clarke again to tie the game at six. The Badgers regained control in the fourth, scoring four consecutive goals, including the game-winner from Jennings 6:15 into the quarter. Toronto scored twice late, but could not complete the comeback. Jennings led Brock with four goals, while Battersby recorded a hat trick. Clarke finished with three goals for Toronto.
