Trent Opens CUFLA Season in Style with 17–8 Win Over Carleton

PETERBOROUGH, Ont. The Trent Excalibur wasted little time making an impression in the opening game of the CUFLA season. Trent erupted for 17 goals Wednesday night at Justin Chiu Stadium, pulling away from Carleton for a 17–8 victory in the first game of the 2026 regular season.

The Excalibur came out firing, scoring four times in the opening quarter to take an early lead. Nick Fournier got the offence rolling and went on to score four times on the night.

Jordan Dool added three goals, while Reed Chamberlain and Dallyn Rai each scored twice.

Trent really took control in the second quarter. The Excalibur scored seven times, turning a competitive opening period into a commanding lead. Jaiden Maseko, Nick Fournier, Mason Tardiff, Jordan Dool, Quinn Jacobs, and Nate Allan were among the players to find the net during the big second quarter.

Carleton managed to settle things down after halftime, but the Ravens could not generate enough offence to mount a comeback. Jenson White and Cooper Delorey led the Carleton attack with three goals apiece, while Logan Grant and Lucas Haddaway also scored.

Trent's offensive depth was evident throughout the night, with eight different Excalibur players finding the back of the net. The team finished with 19 shots on goal.

Carleton generated 33 shots, putting plenty of pressure on Trent goaltender Callan Baker, who played all 60 minutes and made 25 saves. At the other end, Liam Clark faced 19 shots and stopped two, with Trent making the most of its opportunities. For Trent, it was an emphatic way to open the season. For Carleton, there will be plenty to build on as the Ravens look to regroup and get back into the win column.

The 2026 CUFLA season is underway, and if opening night is any indication, there should be plenty more offence and drama to come.
