Hagiwara’s Hat Trick Leads Western Past Laurentian

Laurentian opened the scoring 1:24 into the first quarter when Jake Sudsbury found the back of the net, but Western quickly took control. Kei Hagiwara tied the game at 3:56 before Christopher Da Silva scored twice to give the Mustangs a 3–1 lead after the opening quarter. Western added four unanswered goals in the second, including a pair from Hayden McIsaac, to carry a commanding 7–1 advantage into halftime.

The Mustangs continued to pull away after the break, receiving third-quarter goals from Reid MacDonald and Mason Williams. Rowan Smith scored twice for Laurentian in the fourth, sandwiching goals from Hagiwara and Kai Brady for Western. Hagiwara led the Mustangs with three goals, while Da Silva and McIsaac each scored twice.
