FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

August 4, 2025

Toronto, ON — In response to the growing demand for university lacrosse coverage across Canada, the Canadian University Field Lacrosse Association (CUFLA) is proud to announce a major expansion in its live broadcasting efforts for the upcoming 2025 season.

Beginning in September 2025, CUFLA will debut its new “Games of the Week” series—a slate of weekly live-streamed matchups designed to highlight key rivalries and pivotal moments on the road to Super Qualifier Weekend, where teams compete for a spot in the prestigious Baggataway Cup.

Each week during the regular season, fans can expect to see at least one featured game from both the Eastern and Western Conferences, providing coast-to-coast coverage like never before.

The broadcasts will be led by none other than veteran lacrosse commentator Stephen Stamp, a familiar voice to Canadian lacrosse fans. The CUFLA Games of the Week will air live on the CUFLA YouTube Channel and/or the YouTube channel of the host university. A full schedule of featured matchups will be released in the coming weeks.

“I’m excited to hit the road and visit the world-class campuses that host CUFLA teams,” said Stamp. “These broadcasts reach fans across the country, and I look forward to working alongside our talented team of play-by-play announcers and colour commentators to bring the energy of CUFLA lacrosse into even more homes this fall.”

CUFLA Commissioner Scott Fox echoed the enthusiasm, highlighting the importance of this expanded initiative.

“This is a major step forward for our league,” said Fox. “Our Eastern Conference teams have long been leaders in high-quality streaming. With the Games of the Week, we're now ensuring that Western Conference teams receive similar visibility—viewers will now get to see at least one Western game every weekend.”

In a significant boost to the league’s broadcast capabilities, Laurentian University in Sudbury has also announced that it will stream all home games during the 2025 season. This commitment from LU’s Athletics Department ensures increased exposure for every Western Conference team and greater accessibility for fans, families, and alumni nationwide.
