Baggataway Cup - Full Details

The 2024 Baggataway Cup is now set. Following a thrilling Super Qualifier Weekend, the 6 teams competing for Canada's University Men's Lacrosse Championship will be:


  1. Brock University Badgers (Host exemption)

  2. Western University Mustangs (Def: Nipissing)

  3. Queen's University Gaels (Def: Carleton)

  4. U Ottawa Gee-Gees (Def: Trent)

  5. U Guelph Gryphons (Def: U Toronto) - Western Conference top seed

  6. McGill University Redbirds (Def: Bishops)  - Eastern Conference top seed


This year’s tournament takes place from Friday, Nov. 1 to Sunday, Nov. 3 at Kiwanis Field in St Catharines, Ontario. The 2024 Baggataway Cup is hosted by the Brock Badgers. Brock last hosted the cup In 2016.


Tickets and passes for the event are now available online.


Schedule for the 2024 Baggataway Cup tournament (Subject to change):


Friday November 1:

Quarter Final 1:

4pm - U Ottawa Gee-Gees vs Western Mustangs


Quarter Final 2:

7pm - Queen's Gaels vs Brock Badgers


Saturday November 2:

Semi Final 1:

1pm: McGill Redbirds vs the winner of U Ottawa Gee-Gees vs Western Mustangs


Semi Final 2:

4pm: U Guelph Gryphons vs the winner of Queen's Gaels vs Brock Badgers.


CUFLA Rookie Allstar Game: (Presented by Lacrosse Canada)

8pm: East vs West


Sunday November 3:

CUFLA Sixes Showcase Game:

10am: Mohawk College vs Milton Chaos - Senior C


Baggataway Championship

1pm: TBA vs TBA


Tickets:

Tickets for the Baggataway Cup are now on sale. Pricing is "per day". Your ticket will get you into at least 2 great lacrosse games per day.

Adults - $15 

University students / Seniors (65 plus) - $10

Youth (Ages 7-16) - $7 

Kids (6 and under) - Free (Kids tickets must be requested in advance by emailing: tickets@brocku.ca) 

Weekend Passes: Adult - $35 / Students and Seniors - $25


Streaming Coverage:

All Baggataway Cup games will be streamed live on Lacrosse TV and on the Brock Badgers YouTube page. Veteran lacrosse broadcaster Stephen Stamp will be calling the action, all weekend long. Fans can follow along with live scoring and stats on CUFLA.ca


CUFLA Rookie Allstar Game: (Presented by Lacrosse Canada): 

This prime time (8pm) showcase game, under the lights, will feature the league's best first year players. After competing against each other all season long, the top freshman in the western conference will now come together on one team to face the top freshman players from the eastern conference. This game will be streamed on Lacrosse TV and on the Brock Badgers YouTube page.


CUFLA Sixes Showcase Game:

Enjoy this showcase of Sixes lacrosse prior to the Baggataway Cup championship game. Sixes Lacrosse is an Olympic sport. Stay tuned for a major announcement about Sixes Lacrosse coming to Canadian colleges, starting in September, 2025. This is the first ever game for the newly created Mohawk College Sixes Lacrosse team. This game will be streamed on Lacrosse TV and on the Brock Badgers YouTube page.


Transit:

CUFLA and Brock University are encouraging anyone attending the Baggataway Cup to please consider taking transit. Large crowds are expected. St Catharines is accessible by bus and Go Train.


Alumni:

CUFLA is extending a warm invitation to all league alumni to join in the festivities. With a rich 39-year history, CUFLA has seen thousands of players pass through its ranks since its inception in 1985. To celebrate this legacy, a dedicated alumni tent will be set up at the Baggataway Cup, offering former players the chance to reconnect, share stories and pictures, and contribute to the ongoing growth of the sport.
